If you would like to visit riederfurka, consider staying here. Everything met the criteria. Even the Sion airport was not so far. Was a nice place for city break: )

The nearby restaurant, Boccalino, was as close as 100 metres from the hotel. We loved rooms and breakfast here. Having a patio was like a dream. The wellness area was available.

We likee everything about the hotel, except perhaps its outside appearance (very modern and not very attractive). However, everyone of the staff was very helpful, gracious and friendly, the room was clean, with comfortable beds, pillows and duvets, great reading lights, wonderful bathroom with deep bathtub and lots hot water, with access to a balcony with a fabulous view. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and we San Franciscans especially appreciated the cappucinos and macchiatos. We also had a delicious dinner at the restaurant and would recommend it as well. Truly a great place to stay!
Only its outside appearance - but when you are inside, you don't see it and the view from the rooms and especially the dining area are magnificent!

Absolutely no english instructions anywhere... Although we always want to experience things from a local, cultural perspective, it is nice to have "some" direction" in english...(ie; how to get the cable to work)

I liked the small porch facing east. The bathroom facilities were excellent.
Breakfast (included in the room cost) was minimal. Diner was overpriced.

Very friendly and qualified reception staff, check-in late in the evening was no problem. 4-*-rooms (Casa Andrea) are fairly large. Haven't used the wellness facilities... but it looked really nice. The location is great if you don't mind bringing all your luggage with cable car. The view from the restaurants (and from many rooms, including ours) is great.
I'm not someone to complain... but a few things need to be improved for a hotel of this price range. The building and the rooms of the 3-*-area really need to be fixed. Breakfast is not very rich (again... for this price class), only instant coffee. Staff at breakfast was not friendly at all. No heated (or locked!) ski-/snowboard-room available. Concerning the area/ski area: Cable car gets very busy (and annoying) at the weekends when everyone needs to go up/down with a lot of luggage. (enough time is needed!) The ski area is - compared to others in canton of Valais - quite poor. There are many "connecting"- slopes where you need to walk/skate. If one doesn't count those not many nice slopes remain (which means too small for advanced skiers, not nice for snowboarders). Last but not least - don't expect some "après-ski" nightlife.
